Makenzy

My name is Makenzy and I am 11 years old. I go to Pettus Junior High I love going to school here. My best friends are Karyna, Angelica, Alyssa, Kayla, Matti, and Ebony. I used to live in Houston, Texas and it was a great place to live .I have two sisters, one brother and one cat. My favorite food is chicken nuggets—I love them so much. My favorite sports are volleyball and track, and my favorite color is blue. My favorite school subject is reading  because I love to read a lot. I like to go shopping at rue 21, Claires, JC Penny, and a lot of other stores too. My favorite animals are dogs, hamsters, cats and zebras. My favorite author is R.L. Stine because  I love reading scary books. My favorite kinds of music to listen to are  rap, hip hop and country. That all I really have to say about ME!!!!

Brianna

My name is Brianna. I’m 12 years old. If anyone would ask me what my favorite book is, I would say The End , by Lemony Snicket.  I had 2 dogs—one named Pumpkin and one named Smiley. Pumpkin I don’t have anymore because she got hit by a car. Smiley is still with me. He has been coming with my grandma in front of her driveway. The most recent book I have read is The Chosen One. To me that is one of my favorite books. My favorite type of music would be rock and roll. I have a friend that I talk to on and off. Her name would be Jasasra. She is really funny when I get to talk to her. Thing I know that this will be a great year!

Brandon

My name is Brandon and this year has been the best year ever .I never used to like books at all but Mrs. Schauer is my favorite teacher.  She understands you if you don’t like the book that you’re reading, just tell her—she won’t get mad. Never be scared to show your true feelings about a book.   It’s like this is a fresh new start for reading for me.  Mrs. Schauer is helping me love to read and when I am in a bad mood, I just talk to her and she is there for me.  My favorite books are The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod series. I have never thought a book was good until this year, and now I love to read.  I will always love to read for the rest of my school days and then some!

The thing that I love in school is seeing my friends every day.   This year is like a second chance for me.  Last year I was super sad all the time because I never got to see my friends and I was having a really rough time without them.  Now that we can talk every day, it’s a lot better, and I never want to feel that way again. I can never let my guard down if I do Ill never get it back up again.

My name is Karyna and I am a student at Pettus Jr. High. I am 11 years old and I LOVE TO READ!!! My favorite author is Ellen Schreiber.  She wrote Vampire Kisses.  My favorite colors are lime green, hot pink, black, purple, and yellow. My favorite places to shop are Aeropostale , Hollister, and Forever 21. My favorite pet is a dog. My favorite movie is The Hunger Games. My favorite food is pickles. My best friends are all of my friends. My favorite book is Vampire Kisses. The thing I hate about school is when we learn about stuff. My favorite thing about school is when I hang out with my friends. My favorite sports are volleyball and softball. And that is all about ME!  

Katie

My name is Katie and my favorite book is by Judy Blume. It is called Are You There God its Me Margret.  I love to read. My favorite movies are the Twilight movies.  My favorite one is Breaking Dawn part one. I love to play soccer and do karate.  It is a lot of fun but you get hit a lot if you’re not fast. My favorite colors are lime green and neon pink. I love puppies because they are so cute,  but I hate cats because they scratch!!!!! My mom and dad got me and my sisters a puppy and than like one month later they gave it away to my dad’s sectary and I was so sad because I loved him so much.  His name was Max. My best friends are Karyna, Makenzy, Desa, Andrea, Riley, Angelica, Alyssa, Mallory, and Kayla.  My favorite teachers are Mrs. Camden and Mrs. Schauer. 

Albert

My name is Albert and I love Little Cesar’s Crazy Bread. I am eleven years old and my best friends are Timothy, Jason, and my dog, Dexter. I am starting a comic series called Rocket Cat: Adventures. I don’t like crickets. They’re annoying. My favorite fruits are grapes and apples. I also like sushi. I play World of Warcraft, an online game. It is very fun. My motto is “Smile! You’re on camera!” because if you are on camera, you’re doomed if you do something wrong! My favorite color is blue. My dog, Sasha, has found new ways out of our yard. Dad picked her up at the pound yesterday.

Angelica

Hello my name is Angelica, I’m eleven years old and I absolutely love Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber. My favorite movie is Twilight so you can pretty much tell I’m a fan of vampires! I have two cats—a boy and a girl. The girl has brownish blackish fur and yellow eyes. The boy is gray and has green eyes; their names are Sammy and Amy. I have a little sister named Cristina. She sometimes is annoying but I don’t care she is my sister. One of my favorite relatives is a baby girl named Mia, and she is so cute! My favorite color is blue and I love animals because they’re so cute—especially CATS!!!!!!! They’re so cute and cuddly. I also love the series of Luv Ya Bunches, The authors I would like to meet are Lauren Myracle, Ellen Schreiber, and the author of Twilight. My friends are Katie, Karyna, and Makenzy. So far they’re my friends because, well,  I am new here. When I grow up I would like to be a teacher or an actress.  Yeah it sounds crazy but that doesn’t matter to me! I also love to be in the water.  I love swimming and  my sister and I have so much fun in the water! Well that is all about me.  I do hope I will have a great year!

Riley

Hi, my name is Riley. I am twelve years old and I live in Tuleta, Texas. I attend the sixth grade at Pettus Middle School and Mrs. Schauer is my favorite teacher! J I ABSOLUTELY LOVE READING! My favorite two books are Out of my Mind by Sharon Draper, and Hope was Here by Joan Bauer. I live in a family of 4 with 4 pets. My mom’s name is Becky, my step-dad’s name is Cash, my brother’s name is Trevor, and then there’s me! I have an EVIL hamster named Ruby, a Blue Heeler named Levi, a Westie named Lily, and a Scottie named Snoop. I love playing outside and dancing to hip hop music! I like playing the clarinet and the guitar and I am a decent singer. My favorite song is Wanted by Hunter Hayes, and my favorite kind of music is country! My favorite thing to do is go mudding on my four-wheelers at Lake Murray, in Oklahoma! It is so much fun! My favorite meal is steak, corn-on-the-cob, baked potatoes, and a big glass of ICED SWEET TEA! I am obviously a country girl. I love sitting outside with the family in the evenings, grillin’ and playin' guitars! I am originally from Weatherford, TX, but I moved because my step-dad got a new job. My mom’s parents live in Lipan and my step-dad’s parents live in Bryson. My aunt and uncle on my mom’s side live in Brock and on the other side they live in Stephenville. My dad, David died in a car crash when I was seven years old! My family is pretty spread apart! I love hanging out with my family and friends! My name is Kayla Gonzales. I am 12 years old  and I’m in the sixth grade I love being in sixth grade because there’s more freedom than elementary. I LOVE   to spend time with my family and friends. Hello, my name is Alyssa and I love school. The main thing I love about school is reading, and the main thing I hate about school is math because it’s so hard. I love to read the historical books and the scary ones. The thing I love to do most is to collect rocks . I love science. It is the best part about school for me.  To me, history is the hardest subject ever. How can you remember all of that history?  A bunch of people say it’s essay but for me its not.

Hey guys it’s me Desa in 6^th grade. I love junior high because we have lots of freedom. I think 6^th grade is so cool. Well here are some things about me. My favorite things to do are to go fishing, dancing, and playing my instrument. My favorite color is purple. Also my best friends are Alyssa, Kayla, Karyna , Makenzy, Mallory, and Andrea. My favorite author is Lemony Snicket. I just love those books. My favorite sport is basketballJ. I think I am just going to play all of the sports next year .My favorite teacher in 6^th grade is Mrs. Camden because she is the science teacher. Jasara

What’s  up people it’s Jasara! I  LOVE 6^th grade because it is so cool! I love all of my teachers, Mrs. Schauer (awesome)  I love her because she loves to read, she’s nice, she loves us back, and she always knows the right books for us. I used to never read any kind of book unless it was R.L Stine, but now I read different genres and I love all of them. I love to sing and write songs about the Lord. My favorite singer is Taylor Swift, and  my favorite song is Our Song. I love my friends, all of them— cause when I’m sad, mad, grumpy, or frustrated they are always there to lift my spirits and make me happy.  Every day is a good day for me when my friends are there.  I love my parents because they love me. I love the Lord cause no matter what happens I know  he’s there for me watching me, comforting me in times of despair. When I don’t have my friends I know I have him and good loving parents to take care of me at home. Wherever I go I have all of them!

Jacob

Yo people it is me Jacob. This is a cool school with some pretty awesome teachers, like Mrs. Schauer, Mr. Flores, and more!  I like The Hunger Games books because they are so cool!  My favorite food is Chinese. I am 11 years old and I am small. My favorite subjects are music and science. I play the drums in the PHS band. I think Jr. High  is way cooler because we  get five minutes to get to class and there are vending machines! I had a good time in elementary too, but now it is time to move on to the big stuff.  Some classes are not the best like math it is very annoying L. I think the music is pretty cool J.  Science is super cool when you get to use a microscope because you get to look at leaves, bugs, and other stuff. 

Damacio

My name is Damacio and the things I like to do are  play football and hang out with my friends. I like to draw and watch TV in my spare time. The only thing I don’t like about school is doing math work because it’s so complicated and it takes a lot of thinking. I collect a lot of things but mostly football cards and basketball cards. Sometimes I listen to music because it helps me concentrate. Right now I like 6^th grade and I hope stays like this for the rest of the year. 

Andrea

Hey guys it’s me Andrea but people call me Drea—even some of the teachers do. I’m 11 years old. I LOVE sports. They’re like my favorite thing to do and my favorite is basketball.  My favorite color is red!! =)  I love Laffy Taffy. Like, if it was legal I would marry one! (I am serious.) I love to read the books I Heart You, You haunt me , The Day Before, and Heartbeat. My favorite movie is The Perfect Game. I LOVE Mrs. Schauer and she’s one of the best teachers I’ve had in a long time. The things I like about sixth grade is that the six graders  have  a LOT more freedom than  we had in fifth grade. I hate that we only have 5 minutes to get to each class though. If I could meet one person in the world It would be Lisa Schroeder because she wrote some of my favorite books.  If I could go anywhere in the world, I would go to Paris!!!  The things I like about school are hanging out with my friends. Some of my friends are Alyssa, Karyna, Kenzy, Kayla, Mallory, Desa, Angelica and Riles.  Even some of the guys are OK to hang out with, like John, Michael, Damaci, Chris, Justin, Hudson, Dean, Frank and Joseph.

Peyton

Yo Yo, what’s up?  M name is Peyton and I’m 11 years old. My favorite food is nachos. My favorite movie is Grown Ups. My favorite book is the Chronicles of Vladimir Tod.  My favorite meal is a buffet. I  LOVE COT     TON CANDY with CHOCLATE! In band, I play the French horn. Cesar

Hey my name is Cesar and I think its cool to be in sixth grade.  I hang out with my buds. They are Alex, Chris, and Damacio. My favorite hobbies are talking to my friends and meeting new people.  My favorite thing about school is going to my best teachers’ classes. They are Mrs. Schauer because right when we get to her class she lets us lay down and read.  We read a LOT in her class. The book I an reading now is called Skellig.  The next book I am going to read is Heaven Eyes. It is going to be one of the best books, I think. My other favorite teacher is Mrs. Camden because she lets us do many things. We are growing tomato plants.  Mine grew a lot, but Alex made it fall out and he killed it bad. The soil fell out and it made me really mad,  but we are still friends.   

Justin

In sixth grade, we read more than ever!  My favorite author is Lemony Snicket and I have  read all the books in the Series of Unfortunate Events. They are my favorite books.

The only problem is I can’t find another book just as good as the ones by Lemony Snicket.

Chris

Hi my name is Chris. I’m 11 years old. My favorite genre is fantasy. My favorite books are the Percy Jackson series. My favorite books out of the series are the first and fifth book, which  are The Last Olympian and The Lightning Thief .

Mallory

Hi my name is Gabby  and I’m in the 6^th grade. My favorite color is purple, my favorite food is pizza and I love reading. I like to read the books Vampire Kisses and to read about Anne Frank.  During my spare time I like to read and to play outside with my dog. I collect nut crackers. New Year, New Kids! (Posted by Mrs. Schauer)

Well, here we are, at the end of the fifth week of school.  I simply cannot BELIEVE how quickly this year is flying by!  We are having a fantastic time in sixth grade Reading this year.  We are doing things a little differently in that we're not doing a whole class novel right off the bat, where everyone has to read the exact same book at the exact same pace.  Instead, each student is reading their own books, and we are sharing and connecting with one another like crazy!  We write letters back and forth to one another at least once a week, and we're really getting to know our books on much deeper levels.  We are definitely sure of one thing:  We love to read!  We will hopefully have our blog profiles posted within the next few weeks, and will start sharing what we're reading via our blog posts, but for now, here are some pictures of us doing what we do best....reading!

Well my friends and I had the best of times in 6^th grade and now it’s your turn to have the best of fun just like we did. Well there will be some bumpy spots on the way but just pick yourself and keep walking. There might be hard times, but you will have some help.  Now, just because I said help, that doesn’t mean to wait for people to help you all the time, because you will face hard stuff on the way.

The best thing about 6^th grade is that you have more freedom and you will get out of all the baby stuff you had to do in elementary. Still, when you’re in 6^th some things just stay in 6^th. J

All the teachers in sixth grade are very cool and even though sometimes they can be annoying, they are very funny. If you like jokes just talk with Mr. Niemeier because he is the funniest teacher. I love talking to him, and you will enjoy being in his classroom. J

For those of you that know me, you already know that I have never liked reading. But, since I stepped in Mrs.S chauer’s class I started to love reading so much that I just cant get it out of my head. I can read all day.  If people say you’re a nerd for reading tell them “at least I can read.”  Some people are very mean like that but I never let little kids tell me that.  Some of you will tell people they’re a nerd for  reading but you know what…the people that love reading pass!

The class I look forward to every day is Science with Mrs. Camden. Her classroom is very cool. She will not let you talk as much but, when she has her good days and, she’s not mad at anyone then you can look forward to talking in class so basically just behave with her.

The most fun I had in Coach Decamp’s class is when I’m looking at her explain everything because , she moves her hands and, oh my gosh! It’s so funny looking at her. But sometimes I have fun more in her class than in any other class.  The one that makes me laugh too sometimes is Mr.Proffit and, if you go to sleep in his class he will wake you up by saying something really loud.  Yeah, I fell asleep in his class a couple of times and he woke me up just the way I explained it to you .  It’s like he knows when you're asleep in there and, when he’s in the back and you sit in the back , he says something and  wakes you up. I think its really funny, but he is a really good teacher. You will enjoy all these good and wonderful  teachers. What I’m saying is don’t get your self in danger, or trouble.

Be a good LEADER and don’t GET in TROUBLE!
