Sixth Grade Days, by Cesar

This has been a great year! All we do is have fun but we do work too. My three favorite classes are Science, Reading, and English.  I've only been late once and that's all.  It was in Science--I needed to go to the restroom and that's why I was late.  

In the morning we have P.E.  The boys play football, kickball, and capture the flag.  It is cool in P.E.  Today we were playing kickball and the ball hit my shoulder.  

Me and  my friends just hang out. We do many crazy things. Me and Alex Prieto are brothers and Jodaya is adopted.  We used to be called The Three Muskateers, but that's gonna change now because I'm moving back to my old house in Edinburg.  I really don't want to move because I like it here in Pettus.  But, that's my life...that's how I live.  

Junior High So Far, by Damacio

So it’s me Damacio again.  So far this year has been pretty cool. Mrs. Schauer is nice and she barely get’s mad. I haven’t read many books but I have read a cool one called Lord Loss, by Darren Shan.  

It’s kind of a horror book because it has demons and stuff like that in it. It's about this kid that loses his family in something kind of like a murder and he blames demons and other things. So he’s put inside of a mental hospital or something like that .  It's only temporary, and they trying to get him to forget about demons and things that he saw there. 

I Love Jr. High, by Makenzy

So far this year has been great. I love Jr. high. It is so fun, although parts of it are kind of hard. Overall, it is very easy once you get use to it. 

My favorite teachers are Mrs. Camden and Mrs. Schauer. We just finished a book called the Giver and it is a very good book. We learn a lot of stuff in 6^th grade. My favorite classes are Reading, Science, English, and Social Studies. The classes are so much fun and the teachers are really funny.

 I've done a lot of embarrassing things this year. Like I ran into a pole while talking to a teacher. 

I love hanging out with my friends. We have a lot more freedom than we did in elementary school.  This semester went by so fast. I'm glad, but deep inside though I really don’t want school to end.  I’m just saying I love going to school here. My favorite part about going to school here is seeing my friends. The year went by so fast a few more days and were out of school for two weeks. Well, this is all I have to say about the past semester her at PJHS.

Great so Far! by Angelica

This year has been great! Junior high is hard but I'm getting  used to it. Sometimes I get a little confused in math ( It's hard right?) but I’m getting better at it. 

I like hanging out with my friends: Karyina, Kenzy, Drea ,Desa, and Katie. I only named a few of my friends, but I have a lot more.

I love to go to Mrs. Schauer’s class because I get to read, and well, its just so fun in her class. I also liked The Giver that we read in her class. I really liked it,

Another class that I like is Mrs. Camden’s. She teaches Science and she’s really fun and cool in my opinion. I also like the ACE program for after school. 

I am very happy here in Pettus Junior High. It’s really different from elementary. The subjects are getting harder and I have to keep up with everything! Language Arts and Spelling are easy but Math is hard! I really like my year so far. It has been a blast...a few difficulties, but overall it's been awesome!

Hello Again! By Albert

Hello again! I have been enjoying 6^th grade. In reading, we read The Giver  by Lois Lowry. After we finished, I read Gathering Blue, which is also by the same author.  . I finished, and am now reading The Messenger, which is the third book.  I also want to read the last book in this series.  It's called Son.   I am enjoying middle school, even though it is harder. This semester is almost over, and has gone by so fast!  I recommend reading The Giver, Gathering Blue, and The Messenger.

It's Been a Blast So Far! by Joseph

So far middle school has been a blast. In Reading we read The Giver.  In this book  they don’t have real father or mother. they don’t have and takeout.  They deliver the meals to their dwellings.  It was a good book.

In junior high we have  have six classes and P.E. . We run a monster mile

every Monday and  have to run one regular mile after that.  It wasn't a problem for me, but it was hard for some people. 

We have semester exams for every class if we're not exempted.  If not, we have to go to that class to take an exam that counts for half of our grade.  

Jr. High So Far, by Kayla

This school year has been going by so quick!  We read a book called The Giver and it was really good but some parts of the book were very sad.

Sixth grade is so much fun because we have lots of freedom and the and the teachers are nice. The fun teachers are Mrs. Schauer and Mrs. Camden.  My least favorite classes are Math, English, and History.

Hey Guys, Drea Here! , by Andrea

This year has been great. My favorite classes are Reading, Math, and Science.

The thing I like about Mrs. Schauer is that she makes it fun, unlike other reading classes I've had. There is really nothing I don't like about it--I like everything about this class.

  Coach DeCamp is a fun Math teacher. What’s cool about her class is the desks are like whiteboards which means that you can draw on them and it will come right off. What I don’t like about her class is that she gives weekly progress reports and that means that my parents always know how I’m doing in her class.

   Mrs. Camden--she teaches Science and she has a really fun way of teaching. What she does is we watch a movie about germs, animals, or plants etc. and after that we take a test about the movie.

This Year So Far, by Jasara

This year has not been that bad.  I do my work when it comes, and of course  I try to be myself but its hard.   

I read, read, and read to take my mind to a different place where I can get away from what's really happening.  I listen to music because it helps me find a better place too. I sometimes read scary books like by R.L. Stine or sad books like See You at Harry’ s  or Wonder.  I like to read sad books because they soothe me.

I have friends that I thank God  for and I pray for them, and for myself, when things go wrong. I just wish I could be more careful with what I say or do. 

When there are announcements, during the minute of silence I pray to keep all the bad things away. I pray "let there be light" or "you are the bread of life"…stuff like that. 

Anyway this school is not that bad. I think I should be glad I have friends. No wait--let me rephrase that--I have awesome friends. They are the best I've ever had!

A New Series for Me, by Justin

In elementary all I read was Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Lemony Snicket books. This year I'm trying new books.  Right now I’m reading Cirque Du Freak. The first book is about this kid who goes to this show that is about freaks who can do amazing things. At the end of the freak show the kid steals a vampire’s spider. The vampire was in the show but he was just pretending to be human. Ok after the show the kid steals the spider, and after a few days the kid's friend comes over and the spider bites him. The kid goes to the vampire for help. The vampire says he will help but firs he has to agree to become half vampire. 

Sixth Grade So Far, by Dylan

This year has been great so far because we get more privileges. Band is fun and easy because all you have to do is play off lines. It  is my favorite subject and I play the drums.

English, Science, and Math are also pretty easy.  So is Reading and the best  book I've read is The Giver.  It was kind of sad in the middle, but I liked the way it ended.

An Awesome School Year So Far, by Hudson

This school year has been awesome so far. I like this year because I have found a new book series by Anthony Horowitz. It’s about a fourteen year old boy who lives in London and  becomes a spy. His name is Alex Rider. He is strong,smart,and a black belt in karate. Another thing I like is watching videos in Mrs. Camden’s class. Sometimes we watch science movies or sometimes just for the fun of it. My favorite is the crime shows. We watch the crime shows because they show you how to use scientific equipment. All the classes are fun but, if I had to choose a favorite it would probably be math. I like math because it is easy.

The Good and Bad Parts of Jr. High, by Peyton

This year has been pretty good, except for some classes. My favorite teachers are Mrs. Schauer and Mrs. Camden. I’ve read  a lot of good books, like The Chronicles of Vladamir Tod . We read The Giver together in our class.  I loved it,  but all good things must come to an end.

There are lots of people to befriend in jr. high. Coach Decamp is a little strict. Mrs. Cain is great, and Mr. Flores is strict.

In Jr. High we have a lot more privileges like we don’t have to go anywhere

for tutorials, there are vending machines, and we can use are phones between classes.

Gym class is okay, I guess. We pretty much  just run and play games. We don’t have to write essays, and we get to read a lot. There’s only one bad thing about jr. high:  six weeks test and semester exams--they have a lot of questions on them. 

I Just Love School, by Alyssa G.

I just love school. The thing I love most about school is band because music is so wonderful. The instrument I play here is clarinet. I play piano at home. Well it’s actually at my grandparent’s house. My tia got a vest in band, and I am planning to do the same. She lives in Florida now. Her name is Melissa. She never told me what instrument she played but I bet she was awesome at it. Clarinet is so easy to play, and I am third chair in band. I am planning to challenge Jacob sometime later.
